Youth Mentor
GoodGuides™ is a national youth mentoring program funded by the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Peoria Goodwill is one of fifty-six Goodwill agencies dedicated to providing positive youth development. The program targets youth ages 12-17 who are at-risk due to multiple factors. Youth will be paired up with an adult volunteer who will serve as a mentor to provide a positive influence through a structured and supportive relationship. The mentoring relationship is designed to guide the youth to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal current and future potential through educational opportunities, training, productive work and careers.
GoodGuides™ is looking for volunteers to serve as a mentor for at-risk youth. Volunteers will receive 6 hours of training and asked to commit to one year of service. They will need give 4 hours monthly of direct mentoring services. In addition, volunteers will be required to pass a drug screening and an extensive background check.
Volunteer to be a mentor and help promote opportunity and positive choices.
