Program Manager

PROGRAM MANAGER Full-time Program Manager needed for small, non-profit organization representing local business and industry in central Illinois, especially union construction. Prefer Bachelors degree and/or related experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only a desire to learn and innovate, but also to work collaboratively with local business and industry, addressing issues of mutual concern and improving the overall business climate in central Illinois. This person must be able to manage multiple programs, work closely with the Director, members and community partners, and have excellent communication skills. Programs may include workforce development, safety and health, green building and/or marketing/business development. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required; additional computer software experience helpful. Some local travel required.   • Bachelors degree in related field and/or related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple programs and activities
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office software; QuickBooks, desktop publishing, Adobe software, social media, and website administration experience helpful
  • Experience with any of these areas helpful: labor-management issues, union construction, workforce development, safety and health, green building, and marketing/public relations.
  • Grant writing and reporting experience helpful
 Responsibilities:
  • Manage PALM and TRICON programs and activities as assigned by the Executive Director. Depending on the applicant’s experience, this may include programs related to workforce development, safety and health, green building, marketing of union construction, and labor-management cooperation.
  • Research and develop new programs and activities, as needed, in cooperation with the Executive Director, organization members, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Boards of Directors, committees, and members of both PALM and TRICON to accomplish goals and objectives through programs; contribute to the overall discussion of PALM and TRICON strategic planning, goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate event and program logistics as needed, including speakers, location, registration, etc.
  • Prepare program reports for the Executive Director and Boards of Directors as needed.
  • Assist the Executive Director, as needed, in researching grant funding, applying for grants, and preparing grant reports.
  • Perform some clerical work as needed, including mailings, answering phone, ordering supplies, etc.
