This is not your typical 1980s Breakfast Club. Where we may not be five students meeting in Saturday detention to learn an important life lesson of acceptance, we are a group of diverse young professionals from a variety of professional backgrounds that can come together to learn elements of leadership, better communication, and how to build stronger relationships. We will meet at Apple's Bakery to informally discuss various themes that will impact you as a leader in the workplace and the community. You are invited to come and network over a cup of coffee and meet other young professionals in the area.

I hope by now you have had a change to enjoy one of the many professional development and social opportunities available to you as a member of YPO. Our current membership is approaching last year's record 200 members; however, we need your help to continue our steady growth. Please feel free to bring a friend to the next social outing - I am confident they will enjoy the experience and become a member.
Recently, we kicked off our annual leadership academy entitled LEAP (Leaders Emerging to Advance Peoria), which has been well attended. This 6-week program is designed to develop personal leadership skills and to empower young professionals to become active in our community. Topics range from managing personalities, generational differences, community involvement, work life balance, and the roles of local government. Additionally, we will have our next, Secret's of My Success in October.

It's Time For Some Paintball!

The Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria and the Peoria County Bar Association Young Lawyers Committee are pumped to offer a joint paintball event!

Paintball will take place at the Chilli Paintball Pits in Chillicothe, IL, on Saturday, October 25th. Plan to be there at 8:00 AM. (A lesson/rules/demonstration will be provided and games will follow.) Games will most likely be played until about 2:00 or 3:00 PM. After a long day of paintball, we will plan on having a round of cheers at a local Chilli establishment. Be prepared for a fun-filled day!
